REDBASE Young Artist Award is a visual art competition initiated by Nancy Nan, the Founder and Director of REDBASE. The award aims to promote and support artistic practices of local Indonesian young artists from contemporary Visual Arts background by offering financial and career support. The award is launched at a national level, targeting students and artists in their mid 20's from various artistic backgrounds such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, installation, new media, multimedia, photography, video, and printmaking, who are still developing their portfolio of works.

The competition awards 5 winners selected by a qualified jury: one winner for the first prize, two winners for the second prize and two winners for the third prize. Except the financial rewards offered for the 5 winners of the competition, the award extensively supports the artists in solo and group exhibitions, as well residencies and opportunities to join international art fairs in the region.

The Jurors for the 2016 YAA competition include Asmudjo Irianto (Curator / Artist / Lecurer ITB), Nancy Nan (Founder Redbase), Anusapati (Lecturer ISI / Artist), Heri Pemad (CEO ARTJOG), Edi Sunaryo (Lecturer ISI/Artist), and Cosmas Gozali (Collector).
